Funding to PLN U.S. $ 250 Million

PT PLN (Persero) has received funding commitments from the South Korean company about U.S. $ 250 million for the construction of mine mouth power plant in Jambi with a capacity of 2x100 Megawatt (MW).

According to PLN President Director Fahmi Mochtar, the project is funded by a consortium consisting of Korea Western Power and Circle One and is fully supported by the Government of South Korea.

"It's just explored and a feasibility study," Fahmi said when contacted on Monday (14/12/2009).

Study the feasibility of a coal mine mouth power plant owned by PT Karya Bumi Baratama, Sarolangun district, Jambi, the continued Fahmi, will be undertaken by a subsidiary of PLN, the PLN Engineering and funded by the South Korean government.

PT Karya Bumi Baratama is a subsidiary of Circle One with the mine area has 18 hectares and coal supply of up to 250 million metric tons.

"They are also interested in other areas, but for the first phase of Jambi them into first," he said.

He hopes that power plant construction can be started in late 2010 or early 2011 and expected to operate the fastest in last 2013's
